Vilnius Light Festival
24-26 January 2025
Once the Christmas lights have been taken down and the coldest time of the year brings about the winter blues, the Lithuanian capital brightens things up with the Vilnius Light Festival. This annual event celebrates the city’s birthday with dazzling light displays all around the Old Town.

Kaziukas Fair
7-9 March 2025
Gedimino Prospektas, Vilnius’ main street, hosts many markets throughout the year where visitors can enjoy local crafts, foods and live performances. The most popular of all markets is Kaziukas Fair which ushers in the start of spring with a bustling bazaar full of fun activities and traditional, artisanal creations. Be sure to pick up a verba, an Easter palm made specially for this occasion.

Kaunas Jazz
25-26 April 2025
Kaunas Jazz Festival is the largest of its kind in Lithuania. For over 30 years, this festival, which takes place in Lithuania’s second-largest city, has brought together global artists for an unforgettable celebration of music. While the full line-up has not been announced yet, celebrated American saxophonist, James Carter, is set to headline Kaunas Jazz in 2025!
Street Music Day & Museum Night
17 May 2025
On this day, the city of Vilnius becomes a stage with musical artists performing on every street corner. The city is abuzz with music in the air and people dancing on the streets! This year, music day ends with Museum Night. This event, which takes place in about 30 different European cities, sees top museums offering free exhibitions and activities to the public.

Pink Soup Fest
31 May 2025
Possibly Lithuania’s quirkiest festival, the Pink Soup Fest celebrates one of the country’s most beloved dishes. Šaltibarščiai is a cold, beetroot soup that boasts a brilliant pink colour. This free festival sees a large public park in Vilnius turned into a pink wonderland with a giant pink slide, plenty of pink photo opportunities, performances and, of course, pink soup-themed dishes along with hearty bowls of both traditional and not-so-traditional Šaltibarščiai.

Culture Night
13 June 2025
In a similar vein to museum night, Culture Night features over one hundred cultural events around Vilnius. From free exhibitions and live musical performances to theatre productions and educational activities, you’ll never be bored on Culture Night!
Joninės
24 June 2025
There is no better way to immerse yourself in Lithuania’s pagan history than with the annual Joninės festival in the breathtaking medieval city of Kernavė. Also known as Midsummer Day or Summer Solstice, Joninės is a celebration of the longest day of the year. Make flower crowns to don while you sing and dance until the sun sets in the early hours of the morning!

Klaipėda Sea Festival
26-28 July 2025
The charming port city of Klaipėda has hosted its annual Sea Festival since 1934. Events take place throughout the city which comes alive with free concerts, markets and even a carnival where people dress up as mythological sea creatures. International sailing events and fishing competitions are also a major attraction for sea-loving locals and visitors alike.
As Young As Vilnius

To celebrate the day of St. Christopher, the patron saint of Vilnius, a massive concert is held in the lush Vingis Park. This concert is completely free to attend and, over the last few years, a few major international artists such as Bastille, Rita Ora and Lewis Capaldi have graced the stage.

LOFTAS Fest
11 September 2025
With its love of techno and effortlessly cool, industrial-style clubs, Vilnius is sometimes referred to as “Little Berlin”. One of the city’s most legendary clubs/event spaces is LOFTAS. This former factory hosts an impressive range of local and international live artists, DJs and performance artists during September’s multi-day LOFTAS Fest. It’s a must-visit for music, art and party lovers.
Christmas Lights & Markets
December 2025 – January 2026
With its northern climate, Lithuania is a dreamy destination to visit during winter. Like many other European countries, Lithuania hosts a number of Christmas markets and lights up with spectacular festive decorations and winter activities. However, nothing is more important to Lithuanians than the annual Christmas trees. Cities compete with each other over who has the best tree and almost everyone takes to the squares to see the tree unveiling ceremony.
