Amsterdam Light Festival

30 November 2023 – 21 January 2024

Over seven weeks, the Amsterdam Light Festival showcases some of the most inspiring light shows, artworks and installations. Join in on the festivities and see the Amsterdam city centre light up with incredible twinkling art from all over the world!
The 12th edition of the light festival is set to feature 30 illuminated installations and artworks, all of which can be viewed by visitors on foot, on a bicycle, or on a canal cruise for a spectacular affair!
Another vibrant festival to check out around this time is the Dutch Carnaval from 11 to 13 February in the southern and eastern regions of the Netherlands. It’s the ultimate traditional event to experience the Dutch way of life, including lots of partying.

Berlin International Film Festival
Location: Berlin, Germany
15 – 25 February 2024
One of the world’s largest and most reputable film events takes place in Berlin, Germany. Berlinale, or the Berlin International Film Festival, is an unmissable 10-day celebration of global film that’s open to the public (as long as you purchase a ticket).
With annual categories, red carpets, big global names and the top films from the year, this festival is a treat for anyone with a passion for the big screen.

Basler Fasnacht
Location: Basel, Switzerland

Venture to Basel in Switzerland for our next festival which promises to be an exciting experience! Fasnacht and its creative energy is so deeply entrenched in Swiss culture that it was even given a spot on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Carnaval de Nice
Location: Nice, France

Taking place annually in Nice, France on the French Riviera, Carnaval de Nice is one of the world’s top carnivals and the biggest winter event in the Cote d’Azur. The event was first introduced as a way to entertain the bourgeoisie wintering on the Riviera. Today, it’s a lively annual event that draws crowds of thousands looking for a taste of France and carnaval.

Venice Carnival

In true Venetian fashion, Italy brings us a celebration of all things beautiful, elegant and mysterious. Join millions of attendees in celebrating fine art, dance and music at the famous annual Venice Carnival!

Binche Carnival
Location: Binche, Belgium
19 – 21 February 2024
Recognised by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity, the Binche Carnival in Belgium is an unforgettable sight to see. With a wide variety of attractions, including exquisite outfits and long-standing traditions like throwing oranges, attending this event provides an unforgettable look into Belgian culture.
The festivities start with attendees dressing up as designated characters to party through the streets. This is followed by street parades the next day and a confetti battle between children on the second-last day. Then, on the very last day of the festivities, Shrove Tuesday, the characters take to the streets to hand out (or throw) oranges. Be on the lookout for ones flying your way!
